Take a step back from the stresses of modern life and embrace the
wonder of silence. For a few minutes each day, silence your cell phone
and power down your laptop to reacquaint yourself with living in the
moment. Take up a silent sport that’s easy on the environment, such as
snowshoeing or bicycling. Try a yoga class. Wake up naturally without an
alarm. Read, journal, meditate. Give yourself permission to enjoy
silence in all its forms and you’ll be rewarded with stress reduction
and clarity of mind and spirit.
